The Purpose

In what is perhaps a supreme act of narcissism, I have constructed this "blog" for the purpose of developing and discussing political, economic, and historical ideas. I intend it as a record of the progress of my lines of thinking, as well as place to communicate policy ideas which are unlikely to come up in regular conversation but which I find important. I have written recently that I feel as though my mind has grown fat and disgusting--this is the place to sharpen it.
Doubtless I will occasionally post things here that you disagree with. I offer an open invitation to debate. I will debate anyone on any aspect of any subject I discuss here: if you have the time and inclination, write a critique and email it to me. I will post it unedited, will construct my own response, and then give you opportunity to rebut my response and get the last word. Fair warning, though: I do not want to debate abstract philosophy unless it has concrete policy implications. But all political, economic, and historical matters are fair game.
